A Mid-Season Check-In From Your Tigers
Top of the morning Clemson Lacrosse Family,
And happy Mid March! The time of Irish Mules, overly optimistic March Madness brackets, and most importantly, the midpoint of the MCLA season. For us, this means the gents are departing for spring break. With the Tigers traveling far and wide, it serves as a good mid-season break, and lets us rest because our legs hurt from all the butt we've been kicking. We're sitting at 7-1, with a loss to Florida State that we wake up in cold sweats thinking about. But, we wanted to keep you all posted with what we've been up to, so here's a recap, with some critical information at the end.
Week One: Statement Made
We kicked off the season with Florida at home. A brisk late January matchup under the lights, with the Gators as heavy favorites. And to the Gators we say, good game. Well, not really.
Wait a second - Aidan McNulty had how many? 9? Wow. He's been getting slid to very early ever since, understandably so. He was named Warrior Player of the Week, with Landen Snyder as an honorable mention with 8 points.
UNBELIEVABLE! Weekend at Auburn
From there, we headed out to Auburn, Alabama to find 1 - find us our Dixieland Delights, and 2 - knock off a very legitimate Auburn squad with UCF the next day. And business was handled, to say the least. Everything about that trip (especially Sky Bar) was AWESOME BABY!

Dick Friggin Vitale!
The Stretch Continues
The following weekend we headed down to FSU sitting at 3-1, and got a good ol’ L handed to us on a silver platter. We've got a sneaky little feeling we'll see them again. But we knocked off Jacksonville the next day, and took to the town that night. Word to the wise - do not, and we repeat DO NOT, swim in the pool atop the Recess Club in downtown Tallahassee. It is gross and they do not clean it. Don't ask us how we know.
After testing and being barely cleared from all sorts of diseases following that, we spent the week preparing for a couple strong home matchups, with WVU and Kentucky.
And again, came out the weekend with 4 U's, or 2 W's, depending on your preferred nomenclature. Our announcers let their Clemson pride leak through, with WVU fans sending them actual death threats following the game! But hey, a little home team bias never hurt anyone. Well I guess it hurt the Mountaineers, but we digress.
And then it was UNC at home who we beat handily, and that put us at 7-1, and sitting at number 10 in the league.
Unfinished Business
Now, we don't have another matchup until the weekend of March 27th, when we take I-95 up to Virginia, and face off against 2 strong tests: Virginia Tech and Liberty. We knocked VT out of the playoffs last season and then got bounced by Liberty who went on to win it all. So to say this isn't personal would be like calling this year's football team fun to watch. We've had this weekend circled on our calendars all year.
And following that, we have our rivals South Carolina at home on Thursday, April 2nd. We've got some very exciting news we'll be announcing shortly regarding that game, make sure to follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop. Following that we've got NC State, Tennessee, JMU, and then it's time to go get us a national title. And while we wait, we ran 8 miles to honor all of Clemson's 25 known POWs from all wars.
Money does apparently not grow on trees, trust us we tried
If anyone knows someone that could grow one please connect us but in the meantime, we're in need of some dough. Wu-Tang Clan was right with the whole C.R.E.A.M thing. We have our banquet coming up as well as some unforeseen expenses from Clemson Club Sports Association (who, ironically, hates club sports!) and as it looks like it's playing out, we have a playoff run to make, which needs funding. It has been amazing seeing the outpour of support from the greater community this season, and we are deeply thankful for all of it. We're asking for donations to keep this thing alive.
$25 covers a player’s food stipends for bus travel
$100 significantly helps our banquet costs
$250+ situates us very strongly for playoff travel, and moves us closer to nationals.
Anything you can spare would be greatly, greatly appreciated. We’ve felt the love all year, and it truly means a lot. This program touches lots of lives, and we want to ensure we can back our mission of leaving it better than we found it, and winning a national championship on the way. Please forward to anyone you think would be willing to help as well!
